  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup strawberry jam or strawberry filling
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a bowl combine warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the egg and melted butter and mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt then knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the dough.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon lightly across the filling.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls.
  9. Place the rolls into a greased baking dish.
  10. Cover and allow the rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  12. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. In a small bowl mix powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to create a glaze.
  14. Drizzle the glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
